3 reasons why restriction intervals should be tracked digitally
When a new customer comes to Agworld we often ask: “How do you alert your team when you’ve sprayed and when it is safe to re-enter or harvest a field?”. The answer is often - you guessed it… “PAPER!”
While paper can work, Agworld clients enjoy the peace of mind that Agworld provides with managing worker and consumer safety digitally. So, you might be asking “How do digital records keep my team safe?” Good question!
Reduces errors
A common day in the field looks like this: An agronomist / PCA / CCA writes a recommendation, this is scheduled out to a team member, the team member goes and does the job.
However, with printed paper recommendations and handwritten notes about jobs done, there are many questions about the completed job that might be left unanswered for hours or even days, such as:
- When was the spray job for a field actually completed?
- How is the REI and PHI being communicated?
- What happens if the paper gets lost or
- What if the information doesn’t get to the office to be printed and posted until hours later?
Relying on verbal safety warnings or printed sheets can lead to lack of communication, errors, and delayed notices.
By capturing information about your jobs digitally you can communicate real time job status updates and safety information with everyone involved on your farm. This means that nobody has to rely on making phone calls or look up label information to know what happened on a field or if a field is safe to enter, thus decreasing human error (which happens…nobody is perfect!)
Real time information
Information on when it is safe for people to go back into a field or for a crop to be harvested is typically shared through a PAPER posting sheet. The problem with paper, is that it does not update automatically, which means that this critical information can be delayed and not up to date.
With safety information at your fingertips, there is no more second guessing. Anytime someone creates an Actual (spray record), safety information is updated on both the Agworld website and mobile apps- ensuring that everyone is in the loop!
Minimizes risk
Finish this sentence… “Real time information….__!” Yes, you got it, minimizes risk! When team members are able to pull up information on a mobile device they are quickly able to see what has happened on a given field and which fields they should avoid entering until later.
While this minimizes risk of something happening to an employee, it also minimizes the risk of a mistake that could cost you and / or impact the consumer.
